Building Safer Communities (BSC) Project
This initiative, Building Safer Communities and Environments (Gun and Gang Violence Prevention), is dedicated to fostering safety and harmony for all residents in the Balwin and Belvedere communities and the broader Edmonton area.
Through interactive workshops, seminars, recreational activities, and neighborhood watch programs, we aim to educate, train, and explore the root causes behind youth involvement in gangs and gun violence.
This initiative promotes collaborative solutions and safety awareness by bringing together youth, parents, and educational leaders. It paves the way for a structured, community-driven approach to addressing these critical issues.

Community Gardening Project
A hands-on initiative that promotes sustainable living and cultivates teamwork, environmental stewardship, and meaningful connections among participants.

Seniors Quilting Project
An enhanced community engagement event designed to create safe spaces for shared experiences, connection, and bonding around a common purpose. This vibrant initiative brings seniors together to express themselves through quilting, using their designs and patterns to tell stories that inspire and connect with youth and families.
This project goes beyond promoting artistry, it fosters intergenerational dialogue, strengthens community bonds, and addresses senior isolation by providing an opportunity to engage meaningfully with others in a supportive and creative environment.
Mental Health and Wellness
Sinkunia’s Youth Mental Health and Wellness Initiative, supported by the Canada Red Cross and other valued partners, empowers seniors and young people with the tools and knowledge to prioritize their mental well-being. This vital program focuses on educating and equipping our immigrants, seniors, and youth to confront life’s challenges while fostering resilience, personal growth, and a positive outlook.

These activities empowered by the neighborhood revitalization initiative actively engage community members across diverse topics, encouraging meaningful participation and collaboration. By promoting dialogue and shared experiences, we enhance social cohesion, deepen mutual understanding, and create opportunities for growth, connection, and collective progress.
Computer Literacy Drop-in Class
This is an innovative response to the technological and employment challenges faced by immigrant communities. By equipping participants with essential computer skills, this program helps bridge the gap between technology and unemployment, empowering individuals to meet the demands of today’s job market.
Anti-Racism Program
Committed to promoting inclusivity and understanding, this project provides workshops and seminars for youth and programs for seniors. It focuses on meaningful discussions to combat racism and foster acceptance of diverse minority groups, with a particular emphasis on supporting the Black community.
Through dynamic community engagement initiatives, we aim to create widespread awareness campaigns that challenge stigma and reduce the profiling often associated with the Black community.

Youth Activities/ Mentorship
