Building Safer Communities (BSC) Project

This initiative, Building Safer Communities and Environments (Gun and Gang Violence Prevention), is dedicated to fostering safety and harmony for all residents in the Balwin and Belvedere communities and the broader Edmonton area.

Through interactive workshops, seminars, recreational activities, and neighborhood watch programs, we aim to educate, train, and explore the root causes behind youth involvement in gangs and gun violence.

This initiative promotes collaborative solutions and safety awareness by bringing together youth, parents, and educational leaders. It paves the way for a structured, community-driven approach to addressing these critical issues.

3rd Annual Youth Summit

This was a resounding success, featuring profound insights from distinguished personalities in Edmonton, including the Mayor of Edmonton, Hon. David Shepard among others.

Community Engagement Programs

At Sinkunia, we host a range of community-focused events and programs designed to support the seamless integration of new immigrants into Canadian society. Our initiatives empower the community by fostering a strong sense of identity, strengthening interpersonal bonds, and creating inclusive and safe spaces for open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

These activities empowered by the neighborhood revitalization initiative actively engage community members across diverse topics, encouraging meaningful participation and collaboration. By promoting dialogue and shared experiences, we enhance social cohesion, deepen mutual understanding, and create opportunities for growth, connection, and collective progress.

Anti-Racism Program

Committed to promoting inclusivity and understanding, this project provides workshops and seminars for youth and programs for seniors. It focuses on meaningful discussions to combat racism and foster acceptance of diverse minority groups, with a particular emphasis on supporting the Black community.

Through dynamic community engagement initiatives, we aim to create widespread awareness campaigns that challenge stigma and reduce the profiling often associated with the Black community.

Leveraging our website, social media platforms, and grassroots programs, we strive to inspire acceptance, celebrate diversity, and build a more inclusive society.
