MOST FORWARD MOVING ORGANIZATION AWARD - 2025
At the 2025 Afro-Caribbean Awards (Northern Alberta) in Edmonton, Sinkunia Community Development Organization was recognized for our grassroots community work, receiving the Award for the Most Forward-Moving Organization.
This recognition validates the incredible journey from two volunteers in 2007 to a team of 11 staff and 30+ volunteers today. It affirms our vision of creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to contribute to Alberta's multicultural fabric. Through youth mentorship, community-based seniors' supports, community-driven research, and newcomer settlement services, we continue building an inclusive community rooted in culturally responsive programs and community engagement.
On behalf of the team, I want to thankDiversity Magazine for this initiative. To our many partners, and Mayor
Andrew Knack, who graced the occasion. Thank you.
This achievement belongs to every team member, volunteer, and partner who has walked this journey with us. THANK YOU.
